The extension does NOT collect, store, or transmit:

Data Storage

Local Storage:

The extension stores data locally on your device using Chrome's storage APIs. This includes:

• Price History: Product titles, URLs, prices, and timestamps of tracked products
• User Settings: Your preferences for alerts, check frequency, and notification settings
• Alert History: Records of past price alerts you've received

Chrome Sync (Optional):

Settings may be synced across your Chrome browsers using Chrome's sync feature. This is:

• Encrypted by Google
• Controlled by your Google account settings
• Optional - you can disable Chrome sync in your browser
• Does NOT go through our servers - handled entirely by Google

Data You Control:

All stored data can be deleted at any time by:

• Removing tracked products individually
• Uninstalling the extension (removes all data)
• Clearing Chrome extension data in browser settings

How the Extension Works

To provide price tracking functionality, the extension:

1. Price Extraction:

• Reads product information from pages you visit
• Extracts prices, titles, and product images
• Only processes pages you actively view and choose to track

2. Background Monitoring:

• Periodically fetches product pages you've chosen to track
• Compares current prices with historical data
• Sends notifications when significant changes occur

3. No External Servers:

• All processing happens locally in your browser
• No data is sent to our servers (we don't have any!)
• Price checks fetch directly from retailer websites

Permissions Explained

The extension requires certain permissions to function. Here's why:

Storage Permission:

• Why: Save price history and settings locally on your device
• Access: Only data created by this extension

Alarms Permission:

• Why: Schedule automatic price checks at your chosen interval
• Access: No data access, just scheduling

Notifications Permission:

• Why: Send you alerts when prices drop or targets are reached
• Access: Only to send notifications you've opted into

Tabs Permission:

• Why: Detect when you're on a product page to offer tracking
• Access: Only URLs, not page content or browsing history

Host Permissions (All URLs):

• Why: Extract prices from any e-commerce site you visit
• Access: Only activates on product pages you explicitly track
• Note: This is necessary to support multiple shopping sites globally

Offscreen Permission:

• Why: Parse HTML for price extraction during background checks
• Access: Only processes product pages you're tracking

Third-Party Services

No Third-Party Analytics:

• We do not use Google Analytics or any analytics service
• We do not embed third-party tracking scripts
• We do not share data with advertising networks

E-commerce Websites:

• The extension fetches product pages directly from retailers (Amazon, Jumia, etc.)
• These websites may have their own privacy policies
• The extension does not log in to these sites or access your accounts
• Price checks appear as regular page visits to these sites

Children's Privacy

The extension does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The extension is designed for general shopping purposes and does not target children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy occasionally to reflect changes in the extension or legal requirements. Updates will be posted on this page with a new "Last Updated" date.

Continued use of the extension after changes indicates acceptance of the updated policy.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: View all data stored by the extension in Chrome's extension storage
• Delete: Remove tracked products or uninstall the extension completely
• Export: Export your price history to CSV format
• Control: Disable any feature or notification type

Data Security

While we don't collect or transmit data, we take security seriously:

• Data stored locally is protected by your device's security
• Chrome sync data is encrypted by Google
• We follow Chrome extension best practices
• Regular updates to address any security concerns
